Sego Lily Star of David | olive oil & grape juice on baked paper cutouts | 26" x 32"
The sego lily has historic and symbolic significance in Mormon culture and is the official state flower of Utah. This body of work uses symbolic forms as the individual units of a larger structure. I am fascinated by the intrinsic structure of numbers, as well as the differences that exist when viewing the individual, versus a family, or a community of objects.
